Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) empower Malaysian youth by developing practical skills, confidence, leadership and career readiness through hands-on and industry-based learning. TVET helps reduce youth unemployment, supports entrepreneurship and meets labour market demands by integrating technology, ICT, automation and AI skills. It also promotes social mobility through flexible learning pathways, internships, apprenticeships and industry collaboration. However, challenges such as social stigma, limited access for rural and marginalised groups and the digital divide remain. Strong government support, inclusive policies, industry partnerships and public awareness campaigns are essential to enhance TVET participation and strengthen youth empowerment in Malaysia.
