  • The COVID-19 pandemic began worldwide, affecting all three sustainability pillars: society, economy and environment. Controlling the pandemic has, for example, impacted existing workforces, social restrictions, closed schools, affected healthcare systems and reduced manufacturing activities. These effects had a variety of consequences for many people. It forces the entire country to change its routine to adopt a new way of life through digitalization. Many people face difficulties due to the integration of digital into all aspects of life. People are becoming exhausted because of the pandemic's restrictions on social activities and the implementation of new rules and regulations. During the peak of the virus's spread, it begins to affect many people and the battle continues not only among those infected but also among those who are not infected. The primary concerns were in three areas: socioeconomic, psychology and education for all ages. However, opportunities arise as a result of challenges. Not everything is wrong because we get to learn new skills, particularly in digital technologies, and there is an improvement in the healthcare system, transportation and delivery services, as well as the widespread use of digital technologies in business transactions. Many people are forced to survive on their own and they learn and develop self-coping strategies because of the psychological turmoil caused by the pandemic. For that, this book shall be one of the contributions of various disciplines' perspectives in exploring issues, challenges, solutions and coping strategies relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, this book does not cover every aspect of a pandemic. Nonetheless, we hope this book will be used as a reference and reading material in various fields, such as social sciences, economics and education. Furthermore, this book will be an interesting read for many readers who want to learn about the challenges and opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
